The City Hall on Akti Koundourioti is one of the first buildings built in Kos by the Italian regime before the earthquake of 1933, in the period 1925-1930, based on the designs of the architect Florestano Di Fausto. It is a rectangular building complex, developed almost symmetrically around a central atrium with a view to housing the Italian government services: the City Hall (Podesteria / Municipio), the Economic Inspectorate (Finanza), the Customs (Dogana), the Cadastre of Kos-Leros and the Post Office (Poste). On the East side of the complex, shops were built and on the west an apartment for the mayor. The building now houses central municipal services, the Cadastre and the Customs.
