The current building “Aura” served as the Italian Officers’ Club in the first period of the Italian occupation, known as the Circolo Italia or Circolo Savoia. Before the earthquake, until mid 1928 it served as a Post Office an as residence of its Director. In the middle 1927, Rodolfo Petracco designed an extension and made proper modifications to meet the needs of a club for Italian officers. The implementation of the project was commissioned to the construction company of Civil Engineer Marcello Urban in May 1928 and it cost 88.000 lire.
